My son has a new Mac Pro quad intel xeon with 10.6.2 update of Snow Leopard. He purchased a Bose Companion 5 with the system. The Bose system cuts out whenever he downloads into iTunes, enters YouTube or at random. He has tried reinserting the USB both front and back to no avail. Apple points it's finger at Bose and Bose at Mac. He has also tried the Bose system on his MacBook with similar cut-outs? Has anyone had a similar experience: mad:

I had this same problem. Initially I was connecting the Bose unit to a USB Hub and the sound would sporadically quit. Resulting in me having to unplug the usb cable and reconnect it in order for it to work again.

Solution: After some fooling around, I directly connected the Bose USB to my macbook and it resolved the issue. Perhaps using a USB Hub causes some kind of interference in the signal. Anyhow, I wouldn't recommend connecting through a hub if you're having this problem.
