I wasnt happy with my imac sound. didnt care much for adding external speakers because of all the added wires. I tried placing a Bose Soundlink Mini 2 bluetooth speaker underneath by the stand and the sound is really awesome. This little speaker kicks butt. My imac sounds like a full range system with base box without all the equipment. Really happy with this setup if anyone is looking for something different. Give it a try.

I agree, this is a nice set up. I have the original Bose SoundLink Mini which I purchased in January 2015. It has terrific sound and worked flawlessly up until about a month ago. It now has an issue with intermittent shut-off. The speaker will just power itself off randomly when being used in battery mode (i.e. not plugged in). There are many, many reports of this issue on Amazon's customer review pages. Too early to tell if it is also a problem with the SoundLink Mini II as this new model has just been released. The original SoundLink Mini is still also being sold for about $20 less.

This may not be an issue for people who just intend to use the speaker as an alternate speaker set-up for their iMac and keep it plugged in all the time. Just be aware that this problem does exist (without resolution by Bose) if you intend to use the speaker as a portable bluetooth speaker for your iPhone or iPad, etc. as well...

Have you tried to "reset" the Soundlink Mini by holding the mute button (speaker icon with line through it) for about 10 seconds until you see 3 flashing lights?

I only learned about this trick last week as iOS 8.4 seemed to mess up my Soundlink, and i was just about return it when a Bose rep. told me about that trick that i have never knew about before last week.

Thanks, I will give it a try. I had read about this while trying to research the issue I was having online. In several reviews I read that others had done the reset but it unfortunately did not resolve the issue...

I just ordered the Bose Soundlink Mini 2 for use a.o. with my new pico LED projector (Unic UC50) - but I forgot to ascertain if the sound actually syncs up properly with whatever video might be played alongside it ... or if it plays with one of those dreaded delays, which are going to make movies etc hard to watch. Do you have any experience with this? Does the sound sync with the video in your system? And does the unit offer any options for tweaking the sound into sync in case it doesn't? Best, Jesper
