I've been reporting a crap load as well.
It being a holiday, and morning for most of us - I think they thought it was prime time.

Not sure what the mod coverage is in the morning (typically), they may have thought it was going to be light and it is.

Thanks for jumping on this @Boyd01

The bot now seems to be using spaced letters as some kind of a...filter evasion I assume.

I share your sentiment. It’s astonishing to find scammers lurking in every corner of this forum. And a significant number of them appear to be spamming the iOS 26 and community discussion forums. These unscrupulous individuals must be promptly addressed and dealt with by the moderators.

Spacing characters is a poor-man's liquid glass 😁

Plus it’s clear that a lot of the spams were meant to be crawled by search engine/LLM spiders to scam people traveling during a busy holiday period in the US. Since a lot of people call the first number they see on Google when their flight is delayed or there’s a problem with a hotel booking, the fake customer service number scam isn’t going away anytime soon.
:-(

They're back, I think they are posting in hindi. Reported.
Oh no, another WhatsApp bot scam is popping up! I just saw it in the community discussion sub forum , but this time it doesn’t have that Liquid Glass-like spaced-out letters. It’s all in Tagalog. I’ve already reported it, but it seems like the scammers are still at it. Gah 😩!!!!

Ahh Tagalog, I know a lot of Filipinos so should have known. None of them are scammers though, great people.
Some were also written in Bahasa Indonesia.
Oh, I even tried translating them using Safari’s built-in translation feature, and guess what? Yup 👍 they are posts in Indonesian too! 🇮🇩 Which is a bit strange because I’ve never seen bot scams in those languages before.

Since I reported them and decided to ignore that bad guy 🦹, the mods have already suspended them and deleted all their posts from this platform. Huge props to the mods again, everyone!!!

It’s happening again.

Found some quick books spam in the same forum category.

Glad it’s been taken down.

I'm surprised that Macrumors doesn't send the first few posts from newly registered accounts into a moderation queue, such that the posts have to be approved by a mod before they appear on the site.

Agreeable. So none of these scammy and gibberish comments flow and ruin every sub forum!

It is odd. I made an account last month, I made one post in the PPC Macs forum, and it was indeed held for review by the mods for manual review. I wonder why the same does not apply to these spam bots. Unless, of course, the accounts are bypassing this by making normal posts long enough to bypass the checks?

New members aren't allowed to post links initially. This frequently bites them if they quote an existing post that contains a link, even though they didn't post one. There are also quite a few other things that can send a post to the queue, I often scratch my head trying to figure out why some are flagged. But the spammers have been pretty good at getting around this.

Have you seen any spam recently? It's still coming in, but very little is making it through now. Of course, it's a constant cat and mouse game and each day is a whole new battle.

I’m not seeing any and always report when I do.
