Hi All, I have a few scratches on the bottom of my 2011 MacBook Pro 2.2 15". Anybody know:

a) Are they easy to replace or are the internals of the Mac built on it?
b) The cost from availability from Apple to supply and fit?

Many thanks, Robert.

I know Apple charges $39 for the 13". Labor may very depending on which genus you talk to, some will do the labor for free.

do you know if they do 15" for 40 too? looking to get one for my brother. Is it the whole bottom casing? and what would they do with the serial number? would it be blank on the replacement?

That's a very good point, anybody know the answer?

It will not have a serial number on it. If the technician does it correctly, they are supposed to write the serial number with a black marker on the back (the inside) of the casing.

I got the moshi track pad, arm rest, keyboard cover and top and bottom clear shield, IMO it was worth the $100 for all that stuff, keeps your mac looking like brand new.
