Good morning,

Over the past few days I’ve noticed that the bottom of my screen whether I’m in an app or not is constantly flashing like it’s trying to update content. It’s terribly annoying because every try it “flashes” it makes that pop lip of screen non responsive to touch. Is this some sort of known issue? Restarting the watch doesn’t cause this behavior to go away.

It persists through a force close of all apps and a reboot. 😞

This watch is only about 10 days old and hasn’t even seen a workout yet as I’ve been sick. 🫤
If you bought from new, it must be under warrenty and will get replaced.

Ya, new 14 days ago from Walmart. I could just return and buy again, but the $279 deal doesn’t exist. Gonna try to get them to honor it on the midnight colorway. Hate to go a day without it now, ugh.

Why won't they just swap it out there and then if you go in?

Edit: oh was it all done online? Do you have a local one?

Ya, done online. I do have plenty of local Walmarts (who doesn’t, lol), but none of them have any S7 in stock. Been on hold with Walmart for the last hour to try and see what they can do.

I have no idea about the locale of Walmarts as I am in the UK but hopefully they will sort you out because there is no way you should be without one when it is that new. At least in my opinion anyway.

Best Walmart could do was give me a $25 goodwill coupon to use towards ordering a new $329 midnight S7. So in affect I end up paying $25 more than the $279 green one I originally bought that ended up having hardware issues.

Oh well, now I get the color I had originally wanted, but for $25 more than I wanted to pay. The green color has grown on me for sure and I was definitely much happier with the price. But such is life I guess. Makes me worried that maybe the new midnight one may eventually have the same issue? Hope not!

Could you just take it in to Apple and let them deal with it?
They only offer “drop off service” on Apple Watch according to the support app. I shouldn’t really have to “drop off” a brand new product and go without it for any length of time; so no, I didn’t consider that a viable option.

So … yes, you’re right.

But so what?

First, it’s Walmart that’s screwing you over. If you feel like sticking it to Da Man, see if you can get law enforcement involved, such as your state’s Attorney General. Charging you for a defective product exchange is generally illegal, unless you live in one of those unfortunate “pro-business” jurisdictions where “deregulation” has been all the rage of late.

Me?

I’d just deal with Apple. They’ll probably take the watch and ship you a new one that’ll arrive in a week or so. But you could also take the receipt from Walmart and throw yourself at the mercy of whoever’s minding the Apple Store; they might see fit to send you home with a new watch right then and there. Can’t hurt to try.

Good luck.

I mean, technically Walmart is only required to exchange it or give me my money back and if we’re being honest, Walmart is just a bag holder in this situation as they didn’t produce the product, they just happened to sell it to me; they didn’t knowingly sell me a defective product and of course they’ll make me 100% whole no questions asked since I’m within their return period.

Anyhow, Walmart was nice enough to give me $25 off the midnight colorway… just hope it doesn’t have any issues when it arrives.
