Bought a bluetooth speaker at Apple store in Sydney, AUS. Take back in USA?

I purchased a bluetooth speaker at the Apple Store in Sydney, Australia while I was on vacation. The battery life is NOT what was advertised. I'd like to take it back. I'm going back to Sydney in November so I can try to wait until then, but I would rather take it back here now. Is that possible? Thanks!
