I bought 'Desert Sessions' the other day and i noticed that it was not fitting on my ipod. I was like 'WTF mate' and then i realized that they were really highly encoded. I thought these were the new drm-free tracks and then i was enlightened by my friend that they have yet to show themselves on iTunes. Can anyone explain this? Has it happened to you? Am I making a deal out of nothing? Thanks guys!!

PS: i swear this is not fake, i dont have time to make **** up...haha And i know the black and white seems fishy but I was trying to resize it for the forum and i dont know what I am doing...

yeah there are some albums out there that are encoded at a higher bit-rate than 128kbps. Apple doesn't do the encoding themselves, the leave that up to the labels, who then send the tracks to Apple via upload or what-have-you.
i've gotten the Eagles of Death Metal and Tomahawk, both at high variable bit rate encoding, wish i knew what encoder they were using though :p
