I bought a new MacBook Pro 13 2020. from a store in my country that has a lot of good feedbacks.
I updated the os to 10.15.5. after that I had 3 updates in the Mac app store. Numbers pages and keynote.
when I try to update them I get this message:
"Cannot Update App
Numbers cannot be updated because it was refunded or purchased with a different Apple ID."
I only put one Apple ID on the computer. I only have one Apple ID.
those apps are not under my purchases. also GarageBand and iMovie are not under my purchases, but they don't need an update. those apps are not connected to my Apple ID at all.
I cannot accept them too.
the only solution is to delete them and reinstall.
now I am afraid that I got a used MacBook.
when I got it, it was sealed completely. I checked the Cycle Count of battery and it was 1.
the warranty date gave me a year plus 2 weeks more.
This is my first mac. I didn’t restore it from anything.
Apple told me that they sold it as new. Not used, refurbished or a demo unit. but they can't give me a date of purchase, and can't say when it was first activated.
But still,I am afraid that the computer was used before.
What do you think?
1. Is this a known problem?
2. Do you think it is just a bug?
3. how can I check if the computer is really new?
Thanks in advance.

Your Mac is new. If you bought it within the last 60 days, try and purchase AppleCare+. If Apple allows it, you can sleep better at night. If Apple says you can’t, that probably means the company you bought it from is not an authorized reseller etc.

Stop spamming the forum asking the same question.

It allows me to buy AppleCare+. I didn't bought it from an authorized reseller. but from a trustworthy company in my country.

It happens sometimes. You have to delete the couple apps. Then reinstall them if you want them.
I Googled and it seems to be an issue at times. Happened to me as well.

The mac is new, same thing happened to mine. It's something about the pre-installed apps in Catalina. Most of them can be deleted without losing much anyway. But as others said, delete and reinstall solves this problem and you will never have it happen again with new apps you install.

This laptop has more than likely been purchased by an Apple employee using their EPP and/or EPP+ discounts. The purchase of a mac using these discounts automatically links that device to the Apple ID associated with the employee who bought it.

You have nothing to worry about though. You can safely uninstall and re-install any applications that are giving you problems. If you are still worried, you can always download a fresh copy of Catalina and perform a clean install using a USB drive.
