Just wanna bring some positivity into this part of the forum. Some/many users seem unsatisfied with the 2018 models for various reasons (touchbar, keyboard, throttle issues and what not).

I just picked up a 512 gb SSD, 16 GB RAM, i7, dual graphics 2015 15" model for €1200 (roughly $1400) and I'm really satisfied. It's in excellent condition with 49 cycles on the battery.
I've been back and forth since mid-September on what model to pick up and just said f**k it, I can't dwell on this any longer - I just couldn't stand the touchbar and this 2015 model is fast enough for my workstream (web development).

This is my two cents and I'm sure there is someone out there who is in the same boat and might need some final push. It's really easy to get bogged down and confused with all the youtube reviews - trust me - I must've seen every review on the 15" models on YouTube.. Analysis paralysis can truly be hell. Lesson learned: stop wasting so much time trying to analyze the sh*t out of everything, it always leads me down a very dark path.

Anyway, what I want to say is that unless you're doing some super intensive work such as 16k ultra super HD mega rendering (which every Youtuber seems to do) or you just need to have the latest available tech, you'll probably not see that much of a difference between a 2015 model and 2018 one. This machine is plenty fast and I'm really satisfied with the purchase. If you're out there, confused and not ready to drop a few thousands on a new macbook, I just wanna say that the 2015 models are still great!

</rant> :)

PS: This post is not meant to trigger anyone, by all means, if you wanna buy brand new machine, do so! I'd probably go for a 2018 machine if it weren't for the touchbar, so spending half the money was ideal for me.

Coming from a 2011 13", everything would've been an upgrade
