My bf got it for me for 70.00. Found out the cord is bad, then on top of that, it was jail broke, and I was NOT informed of this. Before I found out that it was jail broke, I went to restore it to factory settings. Now it is stuck in factory settings and I don't know what else to do. The cord, when plugged into my USB ports (I have tried all three of them on my laptop), crashes my computer. The unit had worked fine until I went to charge it (the battery icon didn't do anything) and then this happened when I went to restore it. It is an 8GB 2nd gen. How can I get it unstuck from factory settings??? When I plugged it in, iTunes wouldn't recognize the device, nor would my computer.

Thanks for any help. (this is my first one)

What exactly are you trying to do? Restore and set up as a brand new device, or getting it back to the state it was in before you restored to factory settings?

Not (it sounds) like you had any say in it, but $70 for a 8gb 2nd gen sounds pretty high to me . . .

I agree. to get a second gen jail broken 8gb (plus all the other problems u having) it should hve gone for no more than 40. 70 is more like a 16gb 3rd gen.

What you should do is go yell at your friend and get your money back.
