I bought an iMac and I have a laptop, how can I transfer everything over without reinstalling everything? I don't have a time machine device. The iMac has an 256GB SSD and my MBP has a 240GB SSD, is there some kind of cloud service that I can upload all my files to and then download it to the 256GB SSD in the iMac?

Or will I have to reinstall everything again on the iMac?

Migration Assistant should be able to handle all of that for you. The source must either be a TM Backup, another Mac, or a Windows box running Windows XP SP2 or newer. From there, you're good.

Start that, bake sure both your iMac and laptop are on the network, and you're good.
