Bought Apple Pencil - Fake or not?

Hey guys,

I bought two Apple Pencils as a gift for my mom. Today both got delivered and they look pretty different so I am assuming that one is fake.

They have different Model-No.:
1. MUWA3ZM/A
2. MUWA3CH/A

And also the packaging has different Quality/Colors. Also the Pencil itself has a different colored tip and one Pencil, the other one has no color differentiation. Also the magnetic closing mechanism seems to be smoother on one. Here are some pictures.

What do you think? Just different models of the same original product or is one fake?

At least you can see that one is from 2023 and seem to be for the Asian market, the other one from 2025. Could be, that packaging has changed.

Where have you bought it? Do they both work?

Really hard to tell. If you want to be 100% sure, buy directly from Apple.

I bought them from two different dealers, one from amazon.

I haven't got an iPad so either can't test them.

As far as I'm aware and can find, there’s only one model (A3085) of the Apple Pencil (USB-C).

So, it could just be they are from different regions and different manufacturing years. Why/How would that affect physical appearance? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
