Bought IPhone 11 with apple care, can I use it?

Hi first time poster here hope it’s right place. I bought an iPhone 11 with a crack back and battery service needed(74%) , I was going to try switch battery myself but saw on settings-cover-the phone has Apple care and the battery is covered for replacement and then went to locations it could be fixed. My question is, can I just make an appointment and get it done? I don’t know the person I bought it from.
