Hi guys,

I just bought a momentus XT drive for my macbook pro. What's the best way to clone the drive over or what would be the best way to clone the drive on to an external drive so I can copy it back to my new hard drive once installed?

The easiest way is if you an external enclosure, you can then use Carbon Copy Cloner to copy your existing drive to the new one.

Wish I had one that supported 2.5 :(

Any way to clone it to the external, then clone it back? Or is there an easier option?

----------

I just found out that I was able to insert my 2.5 into a regular sized hard drive enclosure. I'm using Super Duper! now to create a copy. I hope this works! :)

Thank you for the tip!

Once the clone completes, try booting from the cloned hard drive in the external enclosure. If you can boot from it, you should be able to swap the drive for your internal and be good to go.
