Bought the entry-level rMBP today, and I couldn't be happier.

Oddly enough, after canceling out of the 10.8.2 update warning telling me that I wasn't plugged in, the App Store /Software update wouldn't recognize that I hadn't performed the update and there was no way to move on from 10.8.0.

Since the computer was new, I decided to call Apple Care. After unsuccessfully trying to get it to work by creating a new user and fixing permissions on the disk, the AppleCare person told me to reinstall OSX by booting into the recovery partition.

Sigh. It worked, but seriously? The only way to fix the Software Update glitch is to reinstall the whole OS?

You could have went to apple.com/downloads and manually downloaded it.

Sorry you ended up reinstalling
