I just ordered my rMBP through BestBuy and purchased their 2 year warranty. It's something like $100 more than what apple charges for their AppleCare plan.

Is there a way I can drop that and buy AppleCare from apple if I didn't even purchase it directly from them?

Anyone have experience with this?

Thanks

You can always buy AppleCare regardless of where you bought your Apple product, as long as it's still within the first year of ownership.

The hard part for you will be getting a refund from Best Buy.

No it won't. Just go to customer service and ask for a refund of the service plan. You don't even have to give a reason. If not done within the return policy they will still do it but it will be prorated.
