Hi Guys

I keep getting bouncing icons?
Once i get this symptom no program will open and the mac won't restart, my only option is to hit the power button.

If i force quit, the icon will just bounce on re-launch, and it does not matter which program i select.

Could this be memory related, i'm running 4gig of crucial?

Anyone got any advise to track this down??

Cheers Phil

I had (and maybe still have) this problem. It hasn't done it since I put leopard on my MacBook a few weeks ago, but I don't know if thats just a coincidence. Heres a tip: We all know that shutting off the power without actually shutting down the machine is a bad thing, so what I did was the moment an application started to bouce I saved my work in other already open apps, then I went straight to the toolbar and chose 'shut down' then it did it sucessfully and I could turn it back on and get back on with my business so long as I'd saved things. Sorry it isn't a proper fix, I never got mine fixed until leopard and even now I don't think its fixed.
