i see that apple did away with the "bounce" option for incoming mail :((

yeah, instead of an ambiguous bouncing icon it now says exactly how many new emails you have! Why must everyone complain about everything!

no i think you misunderstood.. i mean bounce back to sender..

Feedback it on their website. Maybe an oversight?

What did it do out of curiosity? I never used it.

i did the feedback thing already.. i doubt over sight.. with it you could bounce mail back to sender.. so that sender would get a notice saying well.. as if the mailbox didn't exist. and it also deleted the incoming mail i'd get..

Ah, for spammers or maybe relatives you don't want to talk to anymore. Very nice. I can see that being very useful, hmmn.

Do you think a Rule + AppleScript could accomplish the same thing? Maybe someone with scripting knowledge will write one =)

i'm wondering why the option to do this was removed from mail...

a precaution? i once bounced an email back to someone accidentally.
(i don't remember how i sorted it out alas...)

Yeah, I was also disappointed to see the bounce button gone. Whether it helped cut down on junk mail I don't know, but I felt like it did. There was something very very satisfying about clicking that button and sending it back to them.
