So they're saying it's going to be modifiable, upgradeable, openable, all without warranty threats, has a bunch of similar features to the Apple TV but with the ability to encode 1080p capability, built in web-browser,

They stated they're shooting for a price tag of around $200 and it will be released quarter 2 of 2010.

Exciting times we live in. It's awesome to watch this continuing progression towards the living room/media experience of the future.

Any thoughts?

P.S. it's manufactured by D-Link.

Yeah, I was looking at this yesterday - I'm glad boxee are doing so well with their business relations.
This can only be good for the oss community and xbmc (and people in front of tvs), looking forward to see what comes out of it.
