Hi all,

For any of you that may have a pool and a braided solo loop, I have a question! Has the color of your band faded over time when you swim with it?

I have never swam with mine. I always change the band to one of my silicone ones. Just wondering!

Chlorine in general can discolor or weaken material regardless with the amounts varying based on exposure length and strength of chemicals in the pool. One of the reasons most pools have showers nearby is to get rid of any chemicals or anything picked up in a pool off of you. Personally I wouldn't wear a watch in the ocean or pool due to the salt/chlorine but if you do the best bet is to wash it off with fresh water as soon as possible.

Totally understood. The pool we have is salt water which generates chlorine. I'm honestly not concerned about the hardware, because I had a Series 4 that spent a lot of its life under water, and my current Series 7 is more water/dust resistant. I was just concerned about the fading, since the braided loops are $100 a piece. Probably just best to keep them out and stick with the silicone bands when I am in the water!

Agreed. I would also avoid getting the braided fabric wet/dry on a routine base to avoid any elasticity issues but that's just me.

It's just a band. It's not going to last forever regardless of what you do with it. I wouldn't be concerned about swimming but I would rinse it off as noted.

Yeah, probably smart. I do avoid getting the two I have wet. It probably makes it look like I have OCD with the frequency of which I change my bands on a daily basis, lol!
