I've googled about it and it seems rather common, but I haven't found a way to solve this yet. I had been using an Apple aluminum wired keyboard (the one with the numeric keypad) for a while until I spilled some alcohol on it. Tried everything to save it, but unfortunately the sugars in that drink probably ruined it. I replaced it with my old keyboard that came originally with my MP (the old glass styled one) to keep working. Today, I got myself a brand new one, same model number with the one I broke (A1243). I connected it and all, it's working fine except that I'm having a problem with the function keys. They will only work as regular F keys, no matter what's the setting for them. I tried ticking it and then un-ticking it, to no avail. I've reseted all of my keyboard shortcuts to default, but that didn't fix it either. Re-logged, restarted, still nothing. For example, my F12 key, instead of being used as 'volume up' its being used for dashboard, ignoring the setting. Also, the 'fn' key doesn't seem to work either, the keys are always being used as regular F keys even when i press the 'fn' key. Anyone can help me on this? It's very frustrating since both times I bought this keyboard was from abroad because I hate having a multilingual version. I'm pretty sure that this is because I've put my older keyboard on, but how can that be fixed?

Sorry for the long post, I always rant like that :/

update: I have deleted "com.apple.symbolichotkeys.plist" from preferences folder and not only it didn't change anything but it didn't even re-appear after restart. That's weird..
