anyone happen to notice that you can buy a DP 2.0GHz G5 with 512MB RAM, Combo Drive and 160GB HDD for $2,899.99 on Amazon?

his NOS computer stuff is a major rip off. 99% of that **** didn't even cost a fraction of those prices nor would they be worth it anymore. Why the hell would you buy a NOS iBook G4 for $4000 when you can buy a brand new Mac Pro for that?!

Antiques.
This guy buys loads of stuff and stores them for decades and sells them later as antiques. Especially the limited edition stuff. Take the Apple Watch for example.

Not all antiques are worth something. Someone has to want them and no one will pay $4000 for a computer that you have to find ways to do everyday tasks on. You think in 10 years a 2001 Chevrolet Impala or Caviler will be worth anything even though it will be 20 years old? probably not.

20 years is not enough, more like 40 or 60 or 100 years. I think that guy was pretty sure nobody would buy that iBook but it wouldn't hurt to keep it there. (I'm not sure if it costs money to keep a listing up, does it?)

That is the point no G3 G4 or G5 machine is even 20 years yet let alone 40 or 60 therefore they are simply NOT worth the money he is charging and no one with the right frame of mind is going to pay that mainly when a brand new Mac Pro costs 4000. No one will pay 4000 for a laptop that isn't up to todays standards or can even do anything today without workarounds

Everything is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. It is a gamble on the seller's part but he clearly thinks there is a market for his stuff.

Makes sense, that's exactly how long it'll be sitting there at that price ;)
