Brand new iphone - invalid apps store account info

I just got home from an ATT store with my new iphone - I went to install an App from the Apps store and it automatically tries to log me in as an nycap.rr.com email address that I am not familiar with....I haven't even plugged the phone into my macbook yet! Where is it getting that account info from? It doesn't looks like I am able to change the account sign on until I begin an itunes sync.

So...uh...begin the iTunes sync so it can sync to your account.

Am I missing something? It looks like you answered your own question here. So you know what to do, you're just not doing it. Why wouldn't you plug the phone into the computer?

Probably an account of a previous owner of the iPhone if it's refurbished.

nycap.rr.com is Time Warner's Road Runner cable service, NY. Are you using that service?
