i just recently got a new iphone4 and i was wondering what i could do/get get the most out of my iphone. whether it be applications, and what not

There is no jailbreak for 4.0.2.

The phone can do plenty without being jailbroken. I always jailbreak my devices, then get sick of lag and random apps crashing, and I always end up restoring.

If you have to ask what to do to get the most out of your phone(and not that there's anything wrong with that), then I don't think jailbreaking is going to really help you "get the most" regardless.

My advice: read the manual, google cool iphone stuff, and download top rated apps.

I can recommend some games that are pretty cheap, but really fun. I do believe that all of these games have been updated to Retina Display and Multi-Tasking (Angry Bird was updated for Multi-Tasking, but not Retina Display).

$.99
Doodle Jump
Fruit Ninja
Angry Bird
Dark Nedula 2
Flight Control
PinBall HD
Strategery

$2.99
Words with Friends
Plants vs Zombies
Osmos
