I broke my babied iPhone 2g few days ago, you guys here said go for the newest iPhone4...

bought it... an hour later it would not turn on

next morning back at Apple store, still would not turn on, they turned it on...

it worked all day yesterday... then I paused a podcast and it went all black again...

Gave me a 1600 error message.

Tried to just now restore on a different computer, after three hours of restoring...

Message "THIS IPHONE IS NOT ABLE TO BE RESTORED."

What the hey is going on here?

No, never jail broke, old phone had for three plus years straight on ATT.

This is garbage! Shoulda just fixed the old iPhone 2g! I have no phone!

Step 1: Return it. Tell them to try restoring it. It wont work.

Step 2: Enjoy yoru new one.

( if they success to restore it, you may conclude that you suck at restoring)
