New to the mini but also have a Mac pro. I treated myself to the new Apple $179 touch ID w/ #'s bluetooth keyboard to use with the Mini but did not purchase a Magic Mouse. Instead my plan was to use a Logitech BT mouse.
After I turn on the brand new Mac Mini and have plugged in the keyboard and turned on the keyboard all I see on the screen is a big Magic Mouse icon asking me to turn it on, followed by a keyboard icon asking me to turn it on. That is all I get. Just keeps rollin and never stops! Called Apple and we at least confirmed the keyboard works via my laptop. They set up an appointment tomorrow at the Apple Store. Do I need a magic mouse? I thought not? Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Wait, so do you or do you not have the Logitech BT mouse in your possession yet? Are you saying you're trying to set up the Mac Mini using only a keyboard? In any case, I recommend everyone buy a cheap wired USB mouse to have around in case you run into any BT connection issues - that way you're not dead in the water.

Yes I have the Logitech MX anywhere 2 BT mouse. I also have a Microsoft USB RF I can try! No luck on the wired mouse I no longer have them. I will try the RF get back to you with what happens thank you!

Good to go! That did it! I read about earlier bluetooth issues but so far I managed to ditch the RF receiver mouse on installed the BT mouse. Keyboard also working great on bluetooth! Thanks

Yeah keep that in mind if you ever need to boot into recovery. I use the MX Anywhere 2S mouse and also have the newer MX Keys keyboard and neither one works in Recovery mode or doing a new installation/setup. I have to break out the old Mac Pro wired keyboard and get out my old MX Anywhere mouse because both my new keyboard and mouse are setup for bluetooth to switch between my Mac and my work laptop heh.
