A month ago I bought brand-new macbookpro 15"; battery was only lasting 2 hours at most; Apple traded it in; new macbookpro, same problem. I think it must be some kind of setting from my old mackbookpro that got transferred over during migration assistant. Help! (I am not running video or any power sucking programs and I have calibrated the battery, run repair permissions, and rebooted).

Have you checked your activity monitor, make sure you select all processes. See if anything is using lots of processes

Yes, the only thing hogging a lot of memory is spotlight; also, when I charge the battery the charging time is weird; shows 20 hours to charge; then doesn't charge at all for a while; then finally charges.
