hi im wondering how long will a brand new mbp late 2k8 battery will last? i have one right now but i had no idea 'bout calibrating it n all till after using it for 6 months n now my mbp onli lasts for 2ish hrs..... i wish it lasts for at least 3 hrs so i can get by my lectures in uni this sept.... o also i have the brightness to the lowest and bluetooth off.... what else can i do the minimize the battery usage?

I have one also and I'm experiencing bad battery performance issues, I will make a Genius Bar appointment to deal with this, I believe is a defective battery.
I had calibrated the battery several times without success.
My battery lasts 2~3hours maximum. It should be for 5 hours?

I assume :apple: is aware of this and could be the reason why the new ones have the sealed batteries on.

Anyone else having this battery poor performance issue?

here are the instructions for the calibration:

The "official" numbers are typically quite inflated. Depending on what you're doing, 2-3 hours is reasonable. It also depends on the cycle count of your battery...do you let it drain often? If so, the use can/will wear it out eventually.
