So I just got a new Macbook Pro... love it! But the trackpad... it's cool, but it requires a little bit of effort to drag my finger across it. I don't mind, but is that normal?

Probably not. Are your hands sweaty or not clean?

The new trackpad on my new MBP is WAY less resistant than my PowerBook I just had, and somewhat less resistant to previous gen MBPs.

I have to agree with Chris.robison, unless you have an issue with the trackpad having something on it or your fingers it's very smooth and works great. It doesn't have the plastic feel of the past trackpads and I find it to be the reason I stopped using a mouse with my laptop. Very smooth, very accurate.

The obvious answer (IF one is close) would be to goto an Apple, or other retailer that sells UMBP's and compare. :)
