Hi,
according to this article https://9to5mac.com/2021/07/17/brazilian-police-arrest-gang-specialized-in-unlocking-iphones/ brazilian gang was/is able to completely bypass iPhone security. What do you think about it? What about accessing bank accounts?

Very interesting read, look at the end day there is bound to be a hacker/group of hackers who eventually crack security of any device, all these devices are human made and humans make mistakes that other humans can exploit. I will always say that if your phone (no matter what brand) gets stolen first thing is first, change ALL your passwords, block that stolen phone, report the phone as stolen to Apple (Mark it as lost on iCloud) and ensure you get a SIM Swap done ASAP.

Another recommendation is do not keep passwords of your accounts in your phone.

I didn’t read too far into what iOS versions these guys were able to crack but if it’s right up to iOS 14.6 that’s quite scary.

Hopefully apple find a way to patch whatever this exploit is.

With devices like Greykey. Plus new jailbreaks keep coming out. It's not at all shocking.

Then you think of security researchers finding flaws, notifying affected companies then publishing results.. There's way more people looking for flaws. But selling them instead of publishing or notifying anyone. I'd expect there's way more security flaws we never hear about. Until a researcher happens across it or IT security people backtrack a used exploit.

The iPhone offers good security. Not absolute security. That's just a fantasy.

But in all likelihood. If your phone is lost or stolen. It's not likely to fall into the hands of anyone capable of accessing it. It's still a good idea to change all your passwords and such right away. Just in case.
