I'm in a minor bind here, and I would appreciate hard fact data.
Setup: 10.5. Server with 2X2TB drives set up as a mirror-RAID in disk utility.
The safest way would be to take a backup of the whole shebang before proceeding, but I really cannot afford a spare 2 TB drive right now...
Questions:
Is the data which OSX shows to be on those disks really there as such, meaning: If I'd just take out one of the drives, and would put it in another Mac, would the data be accessible as well as in order?
Some state, (here and here) that a RAID created as such, can be *safely* "unmirrored" within disk utility (even though DU displays a scary warning). Do any of you have real personal experience of this?
