...thumb.

I'm already sick of reading posters that complain about the bezel without even sizing themselves up.

Mine's (thumb) .78 inches (1.98 cm). I'm a healthy 180 lb 6'2" man.

The bezel is .77 inches (1.95 cm)

Looks like the INSANELY HUGE BEZEL will fit me perfectly.

.80 inches for me... (i'm bigger than youuuu :)

I think the "huge" bezel is very necessary... I am always accidentally brushing against the touchscreen on my iPhone as it is now...

I don't care. I still want thin bezel that makes the device more attractive.

Form over function.

Is there a ruler app for the iphone or else I can't tell.

Honestly?

You don't know what you are talking about.

You don't understand what I am saying.

I do. I looked at your other posts to find out what you were crying about, and you think that the iPad is ugly because of the thick bezel. From images and video that you've seen on the internet, you've already made your judgement about what the actual physical device looks like.

And then you said something about "Form over function." Are you kidding me? Apple's computers, while beautiful, are ALL about function, and now you want Apple to enter a new market with only a pretty device that fails? You want a product that has less bezel so the multi touch sensors sense your thumb all the time?

So far off the mark man, so far off the mark.

Personally I want a thinner bezel. Half of what it is right now at most, no joke. The bezel doesn't need to be that big. It could be half of that and people could still hold it comfortably with no problems.

Besides, if you are holding it with one hand, you'll need more than the width of the bezel currently, and if you are holding it with two hands but making sure your thumbs are in the bezel zone, then you aren't actually using the product, are you?

The bezel only serves a purpose in its current thickness when you are holding it nice and prim and proper with two hands, which you will never do; you'll either hold it with both hands and be using your thumbs to do stuff, or you'll be holding it with one hand with your thumb all over the multitouch anyway.

Damn tablet looks like a square.

7/8" here.

And i'm a 5'5" female with long fingers that never could find golf gloves that fit and can't stand the tiny DSLR cameras because they don't fit in her hands.

As for the rest - i'm not touching those comments with a 10' pole

ETA: I do think the bezel could be smaller, and I hate the name :p

All the practical tablets will have a thumb-wide bezel. You have to pick them up. Do you want to always have prints around the edge of the visible display? Any company that pushes the screen out to the edges either solved the fingerprint problem or is making a big mistake.

complaining about fingerprints on a touchscreen device? only on macrumors...

but to play that game, the prints will be far more noticeable against the black bezel background than they will on the usable surface of the screen, since it will be lit up.

LOL

Everybody! Everybody! This guy has used an iPad!!!! We HAVE to listen to what he has to say cause he's actually used one! He knows exactly what he's talking about!!!!1!

Dude, Apple is all about blending form and function, but function *always* comes first with them. They make their products easy and comfortable to use.

So unless you've used an iPad, you're nowhere near the mark.
