Hi,
I recently started an open source project to automatically convert and tag video files added to a folder. After a couple months work, it's turned out beautifully.

Any video files with an extension specified by the user are picked up, encoded, tagged, and added to iTunes, which works out beautifully in conjunction with a few other programs (Transmission for torrents and Automatic for RSS downloading) for broadcatching.

Along those lines, my fellow collaborator (who did beautiful work turning the program from a snake's pit of scripts I wrote into a beautiful easy to use GUI) named the program Breakfast, as it gets you a nice hot fresh MP4 for breakfast :p

This program has other obvious uses as well (batch encoding), but I believe most people will be interested in it for broad catching.

Please check out: http://code.google.com/p/videoengine/, and follow the instructions to try our beta release. Also, note that any feedback/trouble/concerns are welcomed, requested even, and should be filed under the Issues tab according to the guidelines in the Issues wiki article.
