Is there really a true term called “breaking in a new battery” so you will get the most out of it?

I assume you mean the old trick of charging it to full then using it till it dies? This was useful with NiCad batteries but modern lithium ion batteries work differently and don't need any calibration. In fact draining them fully is actually really bad for them. It's true that it takes the OS a couple days to learn your usage patterns and optimize everything but the battery itself doesn't need any sort of calibration or breaking in.

Sometimes these things never die... It's been a while since we had NiCad and people still think this is a thing. In 2094 someone is going to ask on here if it's necessary to power down and back on the nuclear reactor in their iPhone when they get it 😂
