Got home to a notification to update to the latest public beta tonight and once again it left my laptop with a progress bar at 3/4 done and that is where it stayed forever after. Unplugged my external monitor and external drives no difference. Reboot and still 3/4 forever. This is the second ElCap public beta that has 'bricked' my boot to the point I had to option boot and re-install from flash drive and then recover from time machine backup (a 2 hour process). At least this time it actually let me do this unlike last time where it was a true 'visit your genius bar' brick.

I have decided I am done with this whole public beta program, how do I cancel out of it forever and stop receiving any beta updates?

Sign in to the public beta site and un-enroll your Mac. Then go to System Preferences>App Store and select "stop receiving unreleased software" or whatever it is (can't remember off the top of my head).
