Hi

I have recently upgraded the firmware of my OWC Mercury EXTREME 6G and while the upgrade process was 'successful' it bricked the SSD.

My MacBook doesn't recognize the drive anymore and I already tried it in a different computer (a PC) and it doesn't even show up in the BIOS.

Now I already contacted OWC and their customer service offered me to send it to them to get if fixed ... and I have a backup .. so all good from that perspective.

My concern is just ... it was my system drive, which obviously has a lot of private and confidential data on it and I don't want to post it around the world and loose control of the drive.

I would like to either find a way to apply the firmware upgrade again (and perhaps fix it myself) or make sure there is nothing on the drive.

At the moment I think it's just a controller issue not that the memory of the drive is harmed (ie. all the data is on the drive)

Any suggestions ??

Much appreciated!
