I have a 15" rMBP it is still under applecare and I noticed on the lower right side of the screen there is a brighter spot, it is around 2mm tall by 4mm long and is visible mainly on light coloured areas (like if safari is on that part of the screen for example. It seems to change shape and size a little if I press on the glass in this area. Any idea on what it is? Is this something apple will replace the display over and if so how long does that take?

Yes, it's actually called a bright spot, and it indicates a dead pixel or a blown pixel. Apple would replace the screen for this (I had the same and they changed my screen). If the screen is in stock, it could take as little as 1 day. I had two screens changed, the first one only took half a day, and the second time it took 3 days. So it depends on how busy they are and if the screen is in stock. If it's not in stock they order it and you bring your laptop back in once they get it.
