Not sure if this applies to the last iOS 14 version, yet I think this must be the case, too. I am using the IPP 10.5.
Here's the thing:
This is how my system is configured:
- Automatic locking every 15 minutes, unlock with touch ID or password;
- Unlock when you close and open the cover;
- Night Shift enabled with the default settings.
- True tone disabled.
- Auto brightness disabled.
- Two shortcuts were created, one that defines brightness at 30% and the other at 40%.
This app was also downloaded:
apps.apple.com
As you can see the app is capable of not only doing the same as the shortcuts, it can also tell the current levels of brightness in your system. Because the battery levels MAY or MAY NOT be revealed, but you will not be able to tell if it's using, say, 30% or 50%. The number is always hidden.
*****
The bug:
Whenever I close the cover and for example hours later go back to this iPAD I always notice my current brightness levels are different.
In other words I am wasting my time when telling iOS/iPADOs to set the device to, say, 30%, and whenever I return to it it resets that value to a lower or higher number.
It's not saving anything and always doing this. This is either a proven bug or some specific setting is causing this. Which one is it?
Note: when we adjust manually the brightness the new number should also be saved, for good. It's only when auto brightness and other stuff are ON that we have different numbers depending on the environment and that sort of stuff. That is not my case.
