I have a new MacBook (unibody) and as it is my first notebook I am finding that when I want to play a movie file in quicktime or itunes or a dvd in the dvd player that the screen goes dim after a period of inactivity though the movie is still playing. It just thinks there is a lack of input. I also get the same thing when I am reading a web page. I think based on the sleep settings the screensaver or sleep mode may also engage during playback though I can't remember as I am always swiping the trackpad to bring the brightness back up for playback.

Is there a 3rd party app that will control the length of time to dim the screen as well as which apps not to dim for. Something where I can set how long in case I am reading something, or tell it with quicktime or dvd open not to dim or sleep at all. Ultimately I would like control over these settings specific to battery vs power cord. Not sure what solution is out there.

Thanks.
