Brightness dims when charger is unplugged

When I unplug my charger from the side of my computer, my brightness on my MacBook goes down a few notches. Why does this happen and how can I fix it?

Its normal. Go into System Preferences, click on the Energy Saver prefpane, and click on the Battery tab. Uncheck the box that says "Slightly dim the display when using this power source"

It happens to save energy and is normal.

System Prefs > Energy Saver > Battery > Uncheck Slightly dim the display when using this power source

Yes.

They wouldn't give you the option if it wasn't safe. However you might notice what seems like a loss of battery life, but its actually because the screen isn't dimmed as often as it was before.
