iPad 1

too bright at night even on lowest brightness setting. Is there an app that allows to lower the brightness level even more?

Ok where do I get dimmer?

Which is better dimmer or f.lux?

From Cydia, like any other tweak. F.lux I think has a lot of other options for making the colors on your screen warmer or cooler. Dimmer is just for making the brightness slider go darker.

Open Settings and then tap General. Next, tap Accessibility. Finally, tap the switch for the "White and Black" setting to turn it ON. The colors on the iPad screen will invert. Black reverses to white and other colors reverse to their color-opposites.

Wow thanks didn't know about this. It even works on my iphone.
Glad I bought the cydia app, it works awesome. Thanks again!

I use "Night Web Browser by Alex" to browse the web in the dark. It's only a web browser but you at least don't have to jailbreak to dim the screen more. :)

f.lux is both on my iphone and mba which has improved eye strain.

it does take a few days to get used to it so be patient.

Try "Night web browser by Alex"! I'm often using it in the evening when my girlfriend is trying to sleep. It dims the screen much more then iPhone normally can. :)
