Brightness issues?

On my 12" PB G4 (latest revision, all updates), the brightness of my screen will... do a few things. It will randomly be a little dark so I'll press the brightness up button, and it will get completely black and then I have to put it up all the way, and other various things.

Anyone have any idea what this is?

I love having computers with issues. This, the lid not sitting right, latch catching 50% of the time, and harddrive making lots of noises it shouldn't. MMMM.

By the way, I love how when I told the genius at the store that when I had several applications a day quitting on me for a week or so, he told me that was acceptable. I think they're literally trained to BS you.

Does this happen when you go into a bright room? The PBs have light sensors that dim or brighten the screen depending on the lighting.
But you knew that of course....
Does it happen when you haven't touch your PB for a few minutes?
The screen also dims when there isn't any activity for a couple of minutes.
But you knew that too...

Some times it does seem that way.
Instead of admitting they don't know that answer they'll just pretend that your problem is normal.
