I was messing around some files and deleted a few and i just noticed that now f1, f2 which turns brightness up and down dosen't work aswell as f10 f11 and f12.

when i press the sound shortcuts nothing happened. however i am able to change the sound by clicking on sys pref > sound.

any ideas?

System Preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard > Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys (uncheck)

System Preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard > Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys (uncheck)

Yes this is unchecked already still having same issue.

i believe i must of deleted an important file from the driver or something. is there any way to redownload it?

Did you try restarting your computer?

PRAM Reset. Turn off computer, hold down the CMD+ALT+P+R keys, then turn it on. Release the keys after the second chime.

Just Force Start your computer...

...by holding the Start key for 3 seconds. Then restart your computer. The brightness and volume keys should just reset themselves.

:)
