Brilliant timing of the watch release

My guess the goal is for release and update apple watches every April.
This is the perfect solution to the iPhone being released in October.
The spring is usually the time Samsung gets the hype for their new phone release. Now the hype in the news is all about Apple.
Just when most of this hype dies down around June it will be time for the developer conference and new os features and music. that will die down in august and it will already be time for new iPhone. To me it seems like brilliant strategy.Takes away any advantage Samsung has releasing phones in the Spring a usual quiet time for Apple

I just hope the support cycle is such that you can replace it every other year.
