Having to install extra software and running a startup script at boot to get the change to stick is hardly what I'd call a "tweak". More like a kludge.

But to be more on-topic, does anyone know if this also overrides the replacement of custom folder icons with the stock folder icon, if you put an item in the sidebar that is not one of the preset "special user folders" (documents, downloads, etc.)? I actually don't mind the grey icons (I've always used of the "graphite" theme in OSX- so no traffic light buttons for me), what I do mind is losing custom icons if I try to adopt a different folder structure than the default one, and mask that change to the OS via symlinks.
