i try to keep at 10.10.5 (Fully updated Yosemite) on my Mid 2010 Mac Mini (because of increasing specs required for newer OS versions), and ocassionally i see the App Store wanting me to update to High Sierra. i dont recall WHY i let it do this just a week ago i musta let it ? *shrug* it failed to update (it "Installed" but on reboot it was still showing up as Yosemite in "About this Mac")

i finally got a T6 & T8 Torx kit the day after so i could take this Mac apart to do some dedusting (ohh lord did it need it!!) and upgrade the hard drive while i was at it (replaced the stock 320GB HDD for a 1TB Drive)

reinstalling Yosemite went as usual no bugs other than having set the clock back by 4 years to let it work (kept saying the USB Drive copy was invalid or tampered with [no duh as i used DiskMaker X]). i Did pre-partition the drive (50/50 between OS X and for soon-to-be Windows)

after opening Bootcamp Assisstant, i got "This Mac does not support Bootcamp" . i was confused, it always has only things to change was a failed update to HS, and a drive swap.

i know i could atleast force Windows 7 to be installed, but strangely now EFI Boot'ing Windows 7's installer from Disc OR USB (rufus built) results in a hanging black screen w/ No input given to my monitor.

What in bloody Heck happened? i mean i know how to reset NVRAM from within OS X /boot-time, but no idea how to forcibly reset the SMC on a Mac Mini (Mid 2010/ "4,1")
