a couple weeks ago, my friend accidentally sat on my 13in MacBook. b/c was on the keyboard pullout part of the desk, the screen got wedged against the edge of the desk. what happened is the screen got cracked and bent, meaning that it wont shut completley when i close it (about a 1/4 inch gap on the left side when shut).
since im at school, the tech people will fix the computer for free provided that i pay for the parts to fix it. i know i will need at least a new LCD screen (to fix the crack), but do i need a new casing too to fix the bend in the screen? or will that problem take care of itself when i replace the LCD screen?
and what is a good price for a good screen or casing (if i need the casing)? i really dont want to go thru Apple, since they estimated the fixing cost at $750 which is unreasonable when i paid $1000 for the laptop. LINKS WOULD HELP IF YOU CAN FIND THEM.
im a major noob when it comes to computer tech and hardware and stuff, so please understand and thanks for all future help.
