Long story short, my early-2008 Macbook battery latch no longer holds the battery in. If it becomes jarred, the battery falls out. The white plastic button broke off a year ago, but i was using a screwdriver to turn the metal piece.
I had it the plastic housing replaced (chipping, known issue) at the beginning of the year and the battery was a little loose when I picked it up from the Apple Store, but i didn't think much of it. I'm now past that 90 day warranty window.
Any ideas how much this will cost to get fixed? I'm guessing it's not a DIY thing. But the computer is so old now, if it's more than 200$ I'm not going to bother with it because I'm going to upgrade at the next refresh. It's just one of those things that irritates the hell out of me because I forget that it's loose sometimes when I pick it up and set it down.
Also my right arrow key doesn't work sometimes.
Thanks,
Danny
