Broken Digitizer Ok to buy off ebay?

So half the touch on my screen on my iphone went out today, my phone is currently out of warranty. I noticed I can buy a replacemeant digitizer+glass on ebay for about 20-30$.

My question is where do these ebayers get the parts from? Are they legit apple parts or made in some Chinese warehouse where they may not function as smoothly as apple made?

Anyone had any experience?

I don't know what your time is worth to you, but I would buy the "out of warranty" replacement iphone from apple for 199.
