Has anybody noticed that Hey Siri (as well as raise to talk), and the hand-washing features don’t seem to work anymore in WatchOS9, specifically on a series four? I tried a series eight watch for two weeks before returning it, and those features seemed to work occasionally but also not nearly as perfectly as they had in previous OS versions. I’ve reset the watch software multiple times, from both backups and fresh installs. All I haven’t tried is wiping my iPhone 12 Pro as well.

One of several existing threads about it:
I have a series 4. Hand washing works the same as before. Raise to talk to Siri has always been a bit hit or miss for me. The trick for that seems to be highly dependent on the gesture used. It works best for me when I place the back of my left hand against my right cheek.
